About Us

Mozambique Enterprise for Sustainability (MES) was established in 2019 to provide local business development advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Mozambique.

MES is a Mozambican joint venture between DAI, a global supply chain leader with more than five decades of international development experience, and Taciana Peão Lopes & Advogados Associados (TPLA), a Mozambican law firm at the forefront of shaping Mozambique’s legal and socioeconomic landscape. With our specialized expertise and track record of developing local content strategies and policy, we are uniquely positioned to deliver locally grounded, high-impact solutions.

Our work is built on a foundation of international best practices and in-depth local knowledge. Through both advisory and implementation services, our leadership team, local experts, and specialists around the globe support supply chain development, design fit-for-purpose local content strategies, create social investment programs that yield tangible results and business value, and apply data analytics for better decision-making and smart investments. This integrated approach ensures projects are both impactful and scalable.

By uniting global standards with local insight, MES stands out as a trusted advisor and implementation partner.

Our joint venture structure brings together the complementary strengths of our partners in a collaborative working model. MES merges DAI’s experience driving business growth through sustainability and its decades of experience in socioeconomic development with the legal and policy leadership of TPLA, a firm instrumental in shaping Mozambique’s energy sector. This unique collaboration allows MES to operate with both the trust and sensitivity to local dynamics required in Mozambique and the technical rigor and strategic perspective of global best practice. The result is a dynamic organization that delivers sustainable, context-driven solutions with long-term value.

Our flagship project, the MozUp Enterprise Development Center, demonstrates the power of this joint venture in action. Strengthening supplier development for Mozambique’s upstream oil and gas sector, MozUp supports local business growth through training, advisory services, and capacity building. MES is actively contributing to local private sector growth and facilitating inclusive economic participation through this initiative, showcasing how a locally grounded, globally connected partnership can drive transformative impact for communities and businesses alike.
